Linkshop Privacy Policy

Linkshop is committed to keeping your personal data secure.  This Privacy Policy outlines the data that the Linkshop collects on participating users and entities, how and why this information is used, and the steps we take to ensure that your data is kept secure and your personal privacy respected.

  1. What information Linkshop collects about users

In order to provide Advertisers and Publishers with the benefits of using the Linkshop platform it is essential that we collect certain information.  If you do not provide complete or accurate information where required it may not be possible to receive the benefits that the platform offers. 

 

Publisher and Shopper information that we collect:

  • For Publishers that sign up and promote links via Linkshop to earn affiliate revenue we collect name, email address, primary channels of promotion, bank account details and any other information in our sign up forms

  • We may also ask additional questions from time to time, for example more detail about how you are promoting offers, or we may ask you to supply a media kit

  • In order to track payments due to you from your audience shopping, we track clicks onto Advertiser websites, so they can pass us back the value of any relevant purchases made

  • To track clicks we pass “click IDs” through to Advertiser websites, these may pass technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and other specific technical information

  • To claim or dispute a payment for certain merchants we may require your to forward us additional information such as verification of purchase

  • If you make a claim about a purchase, where that purchase did not result in a payment to you we may hold data about this to make a claim on your behalf

  • We hold information about what affiliate programs you are approved to promote, and which you are not. 

  • We may store your name and logo within our platform or website if you are a signed up affiliate 

Advertiser information that we collect

  • For advertisers signed up to the Linkshop platform we will collect name, address, contact details, logo, deal terms, any creative assets provided or any other information sought via the sign up form or via email if we need to ask you additional information

  • We may ask you for metrics such as the conversion rate on your website for the purpose of publishers making informed choices about which offers to promote 

  • We will collect a record of the signed up affiliates that promote your offer

  • Our tracking platform stores data on clicks and conversions that occur on your website only when those clicks and conversions came from tracked Linkshop links

  • We also store any agreed details that you need to share with us to allocate payments to publishers, this may include transaction value or number of sign ups, when transactions or sign ups were referred via tracked Linkshop links 

 

2. Why we collect and store this information

Linkshop is an affiliate marketing network where Publishers sign up to promote offers, and Advertisers sign up to have their offers promoted. When Publishers refer shoppers to an Advertiser website using tracked Linkshop links, and those shoppers make a purchase or sign up to an offer, Linkshop will pay the Publisher, and the Advertiser will pay Linkshop, an agreed commission.  For this to work it is essential that we collect the above mentioned data. The purposes of collecting this data include: 

  • Communicating with you to help you achieve your goals on the platform

  • Agreeing terms and communicating special offers and rates between Publishers/Advertisers

  • Knowing how to attribute commissions between publishers and advertisers

  • Knowing which Advertisers are due to pay commissions so we can pay Publishers

  • Giving Publishers adequate information about Advertisers, so they can make informed decisions about which offers to promote

  • Knowing which Publishers referred Shoppers so they can know their contribution

  • Helping Advertisers make informed decisions about the value of benefit of Publishing partners, and presenting opportunities for premium placements with some publishers

  • Improving the relevance of marketing efforts to you, and prospective customers

  • Proving existing and prospective users with relevant insights and company updates 

  • Enabling you to login and keep a record of your contribution and/or earnings

  • Knowing which emails and/or stories you have engaged with to help provide the most relevant  communications for your interests  

3. Tracking technologies used to collect data

In order to track the data outlined above there a number of technologies used. These include

  • Our affiliate network platform that provides tracked links which, via cookies and/or other means, records when a Shopper clicks a link to an Advertiser site and transacts

  • Our affiliate network platform uses Everflow Technologies, all signed up users must agree to the Affiliate Terms of Service or Advertiser Terms of Service  

  • The Mailchimp email platform is used to collect and email data and store this data

  • Google Analytics tracks the visits and behaviour of all users on, this data is however aggregated and anonymised so there is no personal connection to you

Outside of the Linkshop website we may use Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, and any data available via those platforms to promote Linkshop to you, or new customers

4. Who we may share this information with, why 

Some of the information we collect may at times be shared with other parties. Outlined below is the type of information that may be shared and our rationale for doing so

  • Aggregated and anonymised data about the number of Linkshop users, transactions and trends in behaviour may be shared with Advertisers and Publishers so that both can make informed decisions about collaborating to promote offers

  • Information about Publishers, including the category that best describes them, their names, logos and what they do may be shared with Advertisers to help inform to join the network and have their offers promoted 

  • We may share hashed (or encrypted) email address with social media platforms for the purpose of promoting targeted offers to you on social media 

  • Advertisers and Publishers may be required to share hashed (or encrypted) email address for the sole purpose of verifying a transaction in dispute 

  • Advertisers may have visibility of which publishers delivered clicks and conversions

  • Publishers have visibility of which advertisers they delivered clicks and conversions to so they may optimize their promotional efforts 

5. How this information is securely protected

All data collected, that is not already publicly available, is stored securely. Measures taken to ensure that any personal information is secured in a safe manner include the following:

  • Confidential personal information is secured in a password protected environment where only approved staff can add, remove or amend details

  • All websites have secure SSL certificates to ensure encryption of data that is sent or received from our websites

  • Access to information is restricted to any parties that require information to meet our duties under the terms of service, such as tracking and administering payments

  • The Linkshop platform and/or website may store information using cookies, cookies may hold information about sites you’ve visited

  • The Managing Director of Linkshop is the Privacy Officer and treats data security as a top priority

  • Linkshop takes all responsible measures to prevent loss or unauthorised access to private information

6. How to access information we hold about you


You may request that Rewardhub provide you with a summary of what data is held about you, or that we update or delete your details. To do so, email us at hello@linkshop.co.nz with the subject “Privacy”.  We will request verification of your identity before sharing any information about you (as unauthorised person will be granted access to your information).
